Recent Recalls: Cosori Air Fryer; SmartBase Bed Frames; HomeGoods Book Cases

About two millions Cosori air fryers are being recalled following 205 reports of fires and ten injuries.

The recall involves Cosori air fryers with model numbers CP158-AF, CP158-AF-R19, CP158-AF-RXW, CP158-AF-RXR, CAF-P581-BUSR, CAF-P581-AUSR, CAF-P581-RUSR, CP137-AF, CP137-AF-RXB, CP137-AF-RXR, CP137-AF-RXW, CS158-AF, CS158-AF-RXB, CS158-AF-R19, CAF-P581S-BUSR, CAF-P581S-RUSR, CAF-P581S-AUSR, CO137-AF, CO158-AF, CO158-AF-RXB, CP258-AF. The brand name Cosori is on the front of each unit. The model number is printed on the bottom label of each unit and on the accompanying user manual. The units are size 3.7 and 5.8 qt. and were sold in black, gray, white, blue or red colors.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled air fryers and contact Cosori to receive their choice of a free replacement air fryer or another Cosori product by registering at recall.cosori.com. During registration consumers must provide their contact information and submit photos of the recalled unit with the cord cut off. No receipt is needed to receive a replacement.

Best Buy, Target and The Home Depot stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com, Adorama.com, Bedbathandbeyond.com, Cosori.com, eBay.com, Homegoods.com, Kohls.com, Lowes.com, Macys.com, QVC.com, Staples.com, Vesync.com, Walmart.com, Wayfair.com, Wellbots.com and Woot.com from June 2018 through December 2022 for between $70 and $130.      

SmartBase Euro Slats Metal Platform Bed Frames                                

The bedframe assembly kit did not include reinforcing brackets for installation on the corners of the frame, which could lead to the frame collapsing, posing an injury hazard.

This recall involves certain models of Zinus SmartBase Euro Slats metal mattress platform bed frames. The recalled bedframes have a black metal frame and measure 14 inches high and were sold in twin, full, queen and king sizes. The model codes OLB-MESB-T, OLB-MESB-F, OLB-MESB-Q and OLB-MESB-K can be found on purchase invoice or box; the last letter in each model code indicates the size.                                                                                                            

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled metal bed frames and contact Zinus to obtain a free repair kit consisting of reinforcing brackets to be installed on the corners of the base, an appropriate tool and hardware, and both printed and video instructions (available at www.zinus.com/requestkit).                                                                                                            

The firm has received 14 reports of the bed frame collapsing including one report of an unspecified injury.                                                                                                        

The bed frames were sold online at:                                    

Amazon, Wayfair, Wal-Mart, Target, Overstock and The Home Depot from May 2022 through November 2022 for between $74 and $200.      

HomeGoods Aderes Book Cases

This recall involves all Aderes bookcases.  The bell-shaped bookcases have a natural finish, measure 44” x 18” x 86” and have two glass cabinet doors and six drawers. The bookcase sits on top of four legs that are affixed to two boards that are screwed into the bottom of the bookcase with eight screws on each side. The bookcases were sold with a furniture tip restraint kit.  The bookcase was sold as a display cabinet and one of the following style numbers is printed on a hangtag attached to the product: 081774, 098627, and 094831.                                                  

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bookcases and contact TJX for either a full refund or a refund in the form of store gift card and for instructions on how to receive a free pick-up of the bookcase. TJX is contacting known purchasers directly.                                                                                                          

TJX has received two reports of bookcases that were unstable and began to tip forward. No injuries have been reported.                                                                            

The book cases were sold at HomeGoods and HomeGoods/Marshalls or T.J. Maxx combination stores nationwide from October 2021 through March 2022 for about $800.
